I've never really been one for arm wrestling, however that might be because I'm not very good at it. The act of showing off one's superior arm doesn't seem like the type of thing that someone should brag about. Having stronger arms doesn't make you cool, it just shows that you have strong arms.
"My arms are so strong I can lift things!!! ARGH!"
From my experience with this joke, it's not funny. It might have been at one point, but it has been so overused that it has become more of a nuisance. Every once and a while, you'll have the occasional idiot who uses it on things that don't even make sense (see above). Idiots, you know who you are...
