It started with a nose...

Most of my standalone cartoons characters tend to start off as a single body part. This guy started out as a nose. Eyebrows came next, then the eyes, mouth, etc. Point being, a lot of my creation process is improv. One thing after another and then POOF! Art.

Focusing on the blog again, the daily posting thing isn't really working out for me. Blogging every day seems to be more of a chore rather than a leisurely activity - especially for little to no audience. If you enjoy reading my blog, leave a comment on a post or follow this blog.

As a side note, I added a hit counter at the bottom of the page so that I (and whoever cares) can see how many visitors this blog has gotten. I'm not sure how accurate it is, but whatever.

Viruses!?

I am aware that I missed posting yesterday.  My excuse?  Viruses.  I picked up several viruses yesterday, but I'm not exactly sure how.  They bypassed my virus protection and imitated new virus protection programs that insisted that all of my other programs were infected.  Not only did they disable me from opening up my original virus protection programs, they wouldn't allow me to open up a task manager (ctrl+alt+del) to end their processes.  I had to unplug my computer completely and restart it in safe mode and then do a system restore.  The fake virus protection programs are gone, but I still end up with strange (and occasionally obscene) websites opening up in new tabs of my browser.  I still need to try and get rid of the straggler viruses and further protect my computer.

Yet again, I'm leaving.  I'm going to be gone all next week so there won't be any posts until sometime.  I'm not sure exactly when, but there will be eventually.

My Coo' Haiku

In all honesty, I forgot about blogging yesterday.  I didn't post and I don't think that I ever really considered it.  I Woke up at 5:00am yesterday which is super early for me considering the fact that I normally sleep in until noon.  I didn't take a nap so I was really tired all day.

Amazing Story

I guess one could call this a lazy flash.  No real animation, just frames.  Anyway, I decided to do some more work in flash today and this is what I came up with.  It's incredibly weird and not very pretty, but it's something.

Here's a pixel art animation that I made of a man diving into a pool.  I resized it by 300% so that it would be easier to see.  Why the black background and yellow diver?  I don't know, but it looks cool.

I can understand wanting to upgrade if the other item has more features or whatever, but if you have something that works perfectly fine and choose to spend money on something that maybe looks a bit fancier or is more popular, that just seems dumb.  Use that money for something more useful!

Summer

Summer: the hot season.  During the summer, one can be expected to go to the beach or park and relax or play games.  For me, this is not the case.  In fact, I'm not too fond of summer.  The uncontrollable heat and the fact that the sun is your skin's number one enemy make this season quite unpleasant for me.  Sure I enjoy the warmth, but when it becomes over 100 °F something's gotta give.

I apologize for not writing too much on my most recent posts.  I've been busy doing stuff and my sleep schedule is a bit wonky at the moment.  I went to sleep at 10:30 pm last night, woke up at 1:00 am, fell back asleep at 5:00 am, woke up at 9:30 am, fell back asleep shortly after, and finally got up at 12:00 pm.  Gah, I'm tired.

CELEBRATORY CHICKEN THING

2 months ago (to this day actually) I started this blog.  Where has it gotten me?  Nowhere.  Despite the fact that I'm more than likely wasting my time for an audience of little to one person,  I plan on continuing this project.  Why?  Because I can.

Parent Holidays

Mothers are so silly!  Wait... it's Father's Day?

Did you know that there is a National Grandparents Day?  There is!  It is celebrated in the UK on the first Sunday after Labor Day.  Along with Father's Day and Mothers Day, Grandparents Day seems a bit... redundant seeing how grandparents are in fact mothers or fathers.  "Three days a year I get celebrated?  Lucky me! Hoora- Oh dear my dentures fell out."  According to the official National Grandparents Day website, the holiday's main reason "was to champion the cause of lonely elderly in nursing homes."  If this is the reason, why don't they just call the holiday, "Go pay a visit to your friendly neighborhood nursing home that you normally wouldn't go to because it smells weird" Day?  A holiday like that would need to be on this list.

As a younger person, I had braces.  I remember the first night of having them on my teeth hurt so bad that I couldn't eat solid food.  In fact, I had that night's meal put into a blender so that I could drink it.  Spaghetti and salad slurry.  Yum.

I've never really been one for arm wrestling, however that might be because I'm not very good at it.  The act of showing off one's superior arm doesn't seem like the type of thing that someone should brag about.  Having stronger arms doesn't make you cool, it just shows that you have strong arms.

From my experience with this joke, it's not funny.  It might have been at one point, but it has been so overused that it has become more of a nuisance.  Every once and a while, you'll have the occasional idiot who uses it on things that don't even make sense (see above).  Idiots, you know who you are...
